Special Olympics of Illinois
Dear Community Members and Partners,
We are proud to announce the launch of the Village of McCook’s 2026 Special Olympics initiative, an effort that carries special meaning as it coincides with the Village of McCook’s 100-year anniversary celebration. This milestone year provides a unique opportunity to reflect on our community’s history while recommitting ourselves to service, inclusion, and support for those who inspire us all.
The members of McCook Police Department are honored to lead this initiative, reaffirming our long-standing commitment to community engagement and service beyond the call of duty. Our newly formed Special Olympics team will be led by Officer Calderone, with the assistance of Sergeant Odeh, who together will work tirelessly to ensure that McCook does everything it can to support Special Olympics athletes.
Throughout 2026, our team will focus on fundraising efforts that directly benefit Special Olympics Illinois, helping to provide athletes with opportunities to train, compete, and thrive. These athletes demonstrate determination, courage, and resilience, and it is our goal to stand beside them—each and every one—by raising both awareness and critical financial support.
This initiative is not one we can accomplish alone. We sincerely hope that residents, local businesses, civic organizations, and community partners will join us throughout the year as we host events and fundraising efforts in support of Special Olympics Illinois. Your involvement, whether through participation, sponsorship, or attendance, will play a vital role in the success of this program.
As we celebrate 100 years of the Village of McCook, we invite you to help us make this initiative a meaningful part of that legacy—one defined by unity, compassion, and service to others.
Thank you for your continued support of the Village of McCook and the McCook Police Department. We look forward to working together in 2026 to make a lasting impact for Special Olympics athletes across Illinois.
