Village of McCook, Illinois

Special Olympics McCook Police Department

A Message from Our Department

Special Olympics Initiative

Dear Community Members and Partners,

We are proud to announce the launch of the Village of McCook's Special Olympics initiative, an effort that carries special meaning as it coincides with the Village of McCook's 100-year anniversary celebration. This milestone year provides a unique opportunity to reflect on our community's history while recommitting ourselves to service, inclusion, and support for those who inspire us all.

The members of the McCook Police Department are honored to lead this initiative, reaffirming our long-standing commitment to community engagement and service beyond the call of duty. Our newly formed Special Olympics team will work tirelessly to ensure that McCook does everything it can to support Special Olympics athletes.

Our team will focus on fundraising efforts that directly benefit Special Olympics Illinois, helping to provide athletes with opportunities to train, compete, and thrive. These athletes demonstrate determination, courage, and resilience, and it is our goal to stand beside them by raising both awareness and critical financial support.

This initiative is not one we can accomplish alone. We sincerely hope that residents, local businesses, civic organizations, and community partners will join us throughout the year as we host events and fundraising efforts in support of Special Olympics Illinois. Your involvement, whether through participation, sponsorship, or attendance, will play a vital role in the success of this program.

Thank you for your continued support,

Village of McCook, Illinois

How to Join Us

Three ways to make your morning matter.

№ 01

Stop By

Pull in anytime between 5 AM and noon on May 15. Drop what you can in the donation bucket, meet our officers, and take a selfie with the rooftop crew. Regulars and first-timers both welcome.

№ 02

Spread the Word

Tell a friend. Share this page. Post a photo from the event. The more neighbors who know, the more we raise. Use #CopOnARooftop when you post.

№ 03

Give Directly

Can't make it that morning? You can still support Special Olympics Illinois directly. Every contribution — any size — goes to work for athletes across the state.

See you on May 15.

Bring a friend. Bring your kids. Bring a smile for the officer on the roof — he (or she) has been up there since five.
